Daily Summary for 12/9/2025

Gary, IN-Sterling, IL-DeKalb, IL-Gary, IN

Big Rig Travels day began at 12:30 am CST.  It is 21 degrees and dark in Gary, IN.  We are starting our trip to the receiver near Sterling, IL for a 4:30 am appointment.  We had been delayed due to tire and mud flap issues on the preloaded trailer we were picking up.  

We are back in IL at 12:45 am near Lansing, IL.

Love’s stop near Rochelle, IL for coffee at 2:26 am.

Arrival at receiver near Sterling, IL as the stream ended at 3:24 am.

Stream resumes at 5:22 am, delivery was completed, now dead heading to drop the trailer at a customer that is short on trailers near DeKalb, IL.  We will need to get a trailer washout at the Blue Beacon prior to dropping.

Love’s stop back at Rochelle, IL to complete our split clock break.  We needed to take another 7 hours off.  Watch party started around 6:30 am.

Steve awake at 1:46 pm, gained  back 6:02 hrs.  He restarts the stream and back at 2:07 pm.

Arrival at the Blue Beacon at 2:32 pm, completed the wash by 3:01 pm.

Arrived at the customer at 3:27 pm near DeKalb, IL. Bobtail Bob out of customer at 3:49 pm.

Big Rig Steve officially done at the Love’s near Gary, IN at 5:48 pm.  It is 35 degrees and wet.  We are waiting for our next trailer to arrive from Ohio to the yard in Gary.  Will check in the morning.  We need to complete our split clock with a full 10 hour break.  A watch party starts and a game of guessing about our next long trip as Steve gave out clues and then revealed it was going to be a 3,184 mile trip starting near Cudhay, WI with three drops: One in Washington and two in California and much of the trip on I-90 across the great state of Minnesota before traversing into the western states.

Numbers: We covered 224 miles.  We are 408 gallons to gold.

Clocks: 1:56 hours on 14 hr, 55:07 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning. 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.
