We Tried!

So it has been a very rough day! I never found a trailer washout even though I asked dispatch, looked online, used GPS, etc. I decided to go ahead and go to the shipper because sometimes they know of a washout place. We arrive but the guy said they are not allowed to tell truckers where to washout! How dumb is that? Anyway, I remember the truckwash I used last time we were in the area – in Providence, Rhode Island some 30 miles away! We run the backroads to get there and on the skinny roads we arrive – at a vacant lot! I could not believe it! I hugged the curb best as I could and put on my flashers and called the number the GPS told me …. and the guy answered and said they tore that location down but they were only two miles behind me. Great! Problem was, there was no easy way to get back to a starting location! This northeast area is just way to tight on roads and turns and everything is laid out so screwball style! We found the new location and it was not much better! Finally, I learned the closest truckstop was 40 miles away but in the opposite direction! The shipper closes early, so that is why we needed parking. We will try again tomorrow morning to get loaded.
