Update

We are just inside Iowa and are taking our 30 minute break. Wow, lots of emails from folks who thought I forgot about them and nobody knew what was going on. LOL Sometimes things get real busy for me, but rest assured, I will always update the blog when I can.

So we pulled into the Flying J truckstop yesterday and were done for the day. I was catching up on paperwork and looked in my mirror (yes, I do that even while parkerd) and noticed the warning lights on our trailer reefer. The reefer stopped cooling. I cleared the alarms but they came back. I went to the little shop behind the truckstop but they could not fix it. They told me it needed dealer only parts. The closest dealer was 150 miles away in either direction. The plan would have been to drive there and get emergency repair folks to work on it after hours. I did not have the hours to make it all the way so then the plan became to swap trailers and let another driver take our trailer in for repairs. That did not work either, so I said we would drive halfway or closer to Grand Island so they did not have to pay so much for the 300 miles round trip and emergency, after hours repair bill! I stopped at the rest area where the repair guy showed up and fixed us. Dealer parts were not required, just tighten some items that vibrated loose and refilled with freon. Then, we were really out of hours, so we spent the rest of the night there. It has been behaving very well today. No product was ever in danger of being spoiled. We took care of the matter before that was allowed to happen. Two reefers in what, three days? LOL

Ok, we will continue on today. Not but a few hours left. We keep running into our 70 hour wall…..
