HOWDY! Ok, so maybe it wasn’t that bad. We started recording our run up the Rocky mountains, through Eisenhower Tunnel, then back down into Denver. About 45 miles outside of Denver, at the point the truck was pulling it’s hardest to drag our trailer up the hill, steam appeared from everywhere! Then a second later, the dash went to red lights and giving me an emergency engine shutdown in 5, 4, 3, …but we made it safely to the shoulder.
The shop in Denver came out to fill us back up with coolant and gave us a cap. Apparently, somewhere along the way, the cap was never fully tightened from our services in Utah just last week. The absolute horrible, bone jarring roads must have unscrewed it. We got back rolling and made a stop at the shop so they could completely top off the coolant. Then we finally got to make our delivery in Denver.
We have a short trip local to do in the morning and I will update trip blogs, etc in the morning probably. I’m dead tired and under the weather today. I just want to nap!
