Munising

Good Morning! First, the doctor said he is more than happy with all the test results and that I am making a comeback faster than he ever thought. He said for as ill I was, for me to be back at work and doing this well is unexpected. Good to hear things are going well.

I started off with a tour of the Sand Point Lighthouse visit in Escanaba, Michigan.  Then yesterday I rolled into Munising, Michigan and got a motel. Pretty much everything was filled up since this is the height of the summer sightseers. This town is real nice with just about every street corner lined with tons of colorful flowers. Nice quiet little town right on the shores of Lake Superior!

I took a 2.5 hour boat tour of a few shipwrecks that lay just a few feet under the water surface. Pretty cool. Also took another 2.5 hour boat ride that took me out to the Pictured Rocks cliffs at sunset. I was disappointed at first because it had been a beautiful sunny day all day then as we left the harbor, it was 100% gray clouds! I thought no way would any photos be good since the sun is what makes the colors in rocks show best. As we got into the tour, the sun came out and just made the colors in the rocks come alive! It was pretty much a perfect sunset tour! It was a bit chilly though, glad I brought my hoodie!

Today I plan on taking a 3+ mile hike along the shore to a ranger guided lighthouse tour. Then possibly a 3 hour kayaking tour of the Pictured Rocks area….we will see.

Here are a few sample photos…
