Good Saturday to the road crew!
We have been running around so much that we are already running into our 70hour clock and it’s only been a week! The next trip is now posted and we will make our way back towards Ohio for the weekend.
Just a couple of things of note…. Once in awhile you might hear me mention the speed of a car or truck that flys by us so fast it’s not even funny. I DO NOT have a radar detector on my truck. Yes, I now it is illegal in most states for a commercial driver to have one. What I DO have is an application that is part of my “adaptive cruise control” that is built into the truck ad it has a radar that constantly measures the distance and speed of traffic within 600 feet in front of my truck. The truck radar uses that information to automatically slow me down and apply my brakes if traffic in front of me is going slower. It also has collision avoidance which will bring the truck to a complete stop if need be if a car cuts us off and a collision is imminent. This information is available to me with a push of one button on my steering wheel which displays on my dashboard the current speed of traffic in front of us as well as the distance in feet, and the time it would take for us to reach them if they were to completely stop in front of us. Again, we doNOT have a radar detector.
