Doozy

Morning! Well we woke up and started driving at 2am to make this delivery work with our hours. We made it an hour early and are in the door waiting to be unloaded. Wow, this was a strange place to find! No name on the building, does not even look like any place to unload, and skinny streets! We ended up backing in a tight spot from the street which meant all the cars going to work had to wait for me to back in….and wow, they didn’t want to wait the 3 minutes it took to safely get in the dirt hole! I had people flowing around the truck within inches on both sides even while I was moving! If they could wait just a minute I’d be completely out of the way!! Dang people!

We have our next trip but we are running into the same problem with our hours…..we can only get halfway to our next shipper, then we will have to shutdown for the day, then start driving when we get hours back at midnight or so to make ontime pickup. THEN, it all depends on how soon they load us as to how much night driving we need to do. Man, I hate this night driving and weird schedule!!  Ikeep hitting the 70 hour limit, which is almost like working two fulltime jobs, and then I have to drive at night – and sleep during the daytime with all this excessive heat and humidity. Well, there goes my idle rate because I won’t sleep in the truck with no air conditioner!!

STRANGE! Never seen that happen before! Our trip is mapped correctly, but the mileage is way off. The total actual mileage is about 1275…….not sure why it says it is 349 miles just from Amarillo to Cactus, Texas, making our trip 1881. LOL
