Fond du Lac, WI to Gary, IN to Belvidere, IL
Big Rig Travels day began at 6:27 am. It was 63 degrees and a beautiful sunrise near Fond du Lac, WI. “Alright, ready to go?”
We run into rain early on, and BRS advises that if we get to Gary, IN before noon, the load will be on time.
Welcome to Illinois at 8:14 am.
“Coffee in Illinois.” as we pull off of I-41 to stop at the Love’s at 8:15 pm. “Free coffee at LOVE’s” at Wadsworth, IL. We have 237 gallons to platinum now.
We are going through Chicago on I-90/I-94 the Kennedy Expressway. A slow down at 9:34 am.
Welcome to Indiana at 10:00 am near Hammond.
Near the yard in Gary, IN at 10:11 am to drop the load and look for a new trailer.
Stream resumes at 11:04 am, leaving the yard. It is 64 degrees and cloudy. This is a non-revenue empty trailer move. 96 miles to go.
Agenda for time off includes making 7 pounds of meatloaf.
Our usual stop for final coffee at Love’s at 12:44 pm near Hampshire and top off the refer tank. Now, 206 gallons to Platinum. No hotdogs or onions or any hot food. BRS wonders if it is all due to being the weekend.
Arrival back at HQ at our normal parking spot at 1:40 pm in Belvidere, IL.
Numbers: We covered 284 miles including the drop and pick of an empty trailer rolling out of Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
Clocks: 5:03 hours on 70 hr. 70 hour clock to reset before getting back on the road after home time.
