Daily Summary for 6/25/2025

Indianapolis, IN to Belvidere, IL via Wilmington, IL

Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 6:49 am EDT.  It is 76 degrees and partly cloudy at the Flying J, near Indianapolis, IN.  We are continuing our trip to Wilmington, IL.  Two recordings: 4 hrs, 2:25 hrs.

Love’s stop near DeMotte, IN at 7:54 am for coffee, then backroads, state road number 10.

“Hey look at that, welcome to Illinois” near Momence at 8:29 am. 

Recording ends as we arrive at receiver near Wilmington, IL at 9:42 am.  Steve advises, “this is a live unload, we have never been here before.  You all can go grab some lunch.”

Recording resumes at 12:17 pm, it is 88 degrees and partly cloudy as we are leaving the receiver. “I’m ready to go home.  Home time, home time.  89 miles to home.”

We make our traditional last stop at Love’s for coffee at 1:57 pm near Hampshire, IL.  An episode of confusion as we go to leave the fuel island, a blue car is in our way, and a pick up going through the fuel island backwards.  Steve had words about what occurred.  

We take the big road, I-90 toll road home.  Steve advised we had made Platinum for next month.

Arrival at HQ Belvidere, IL to our normal stop at 2:31 pm.

Numbers:  0 miles to receiver/shipper.  We rolled out of Indiana and into Illinois.

Clocks: will reset after home time.   Projected return to the road on July 2nd, in the mean time will be broadcasting live Belvidere Heritage Days starting Saturday morning including paint on State Street, duck race, parade and fireworks.  Steve has a special tease that there would be some road crew also attending.
