Daily Summary for 6/20/2025

Conewago, PA to S Lebanon, PA to Pine Creek, PA

Big Rig Travels Friday began at 9:50 am, near Conewago Township, PA at a travel plaza.  Two recordings: 2:30 hrs, 5:30 hrs.  Fresh coffee before we go to get a trailer washout.  Steve advised the trailer was trashed after the live unload was completed and we did not arrive at the truck stop until 12:00 am.

A Love’s stop at 10:48 am near Middlesex, PA for fuel.  “We are 163 gallons away from Platinum.”

Arrival at the Blue Beacon for a trailer washout at 11:04 am.  “We have someone broke down in the washout line.”  Steve is able to bypass all the trucks in line as they had a separate wash bay for trailer washouts only and we rolled right on up.

Arrival at the shipper near South Lebanon Township, PA to check in to complete the drop and hook of a preloaded trailer at 12:26 pm.  Recording ends.

Recording starts as we are leaving the shipper at 12:57 pm.  Status changed to “on time to delivery.”  We are starting our trip to Gary, IN.  Steve adjusts trailer tandems prior to leaving.

Stopped at the travel plaza on I-76 near South Londonderry Township, PA at 1:38 pm to sort out navigation and get fresh, hot coffee.

Love’s stop at 2:16 pm for weigh mass check at the Cat Scale near Londonderry Township, PA.  Steve advised we needed to make sure that we are California legal as this load is going to CA with another driver after we drop it at the yard.  (This was the first time this year that the Blue Comet had had a load that was bound for CA).  “We are legal, not by much, but we are legal.”  Then we needed to get hard copies of our weights.

Slowdown on I-80 near Lawrence Township, PA “traffic coming to a stop.” at 5:19 pm and continues at least half an hour until reaching Pine Township, PA.

Stop at the Love’s near Pine Creek Township, PA finding a parking spot for the night at 6:24 pm.  “OK, wow, long day, long, long day.”

Numbers:  465 miles to go to the Gary yard for other drivers.  We covered 300 miles plus a trailer washout, plus trailer swap and going out of our way to get a weight rolling within Pennsylvania.

Clocks: 0:55 hours before a 30 minute break, 3:37 hours on 11 hr,  4:14 hours on 14 hr,  28:23 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning. 100 gallons away from Platinum.
