Heading back to Illinois with a fresh 70

Big Rig Steve officially done at 19:24 safely parked near Effingham, Illinois.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 10:50 CDT in Memphis, TN.  Broadcast begins at the Blue Beacon trailer washout.  Status is “Headed to Shipper”, continuing our trip to Covington, Tennessee on a overcast morning with a high cloud deck.  

As is usual, we stop at the Love’s at 10:55 CDT before getting on the big roads.  There is a poll on preferences between 1080P vs 720.  1080 lead in the results 67%.

BRS points out tornado damage from 2023 near Covington, TN at 12:07 CDT.

He arrives at the shipper at 12:22 CDT, dropped the empty trailer  and parked.  He checked in at the shipping office at 12:38 CDT.

Status was changed to “on time to delivery” at 13:04 CDT.  BRT audio liners start as we roll out, continuing our trip to Melrose Park, IL.

He stops at a rest area for his 30 minute mandatory break at 17:02 CDT in Benton, IL.  BRS happily answers the usual questions and discussed website and broadcast cameras, but 17:33 CDT we were rolling again. 

Near Ina, IL we stop at a Love’s at 17:45 CDT.  We are now 290 gallons to Gold Status for June.

Numbers:  220 miles 354 km to receiver.  We covered 354 miles 570 km including a trailer washout, a trailer pick up then rolling out of Tennessee and into Illinois.  

Clocks: 3:11 hours on 11 hr,  4:11 hours on 14 hr,  61 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning. 

 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.  There is about 4 hours to delivery which is scheduled for 17:00 CDT tomorrow and cannot arrive early. He surmises he could leave as late as 11:00-12:00 CDT.  Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.

  1. Thanks once again for excellent summery report!! You are very important behind the scenes vital crew member to keep us informed!!! Especially;;y good to keep us informed of coffee break stops and of consumption of edibles!! Important that crew alerts Steve of possible edibles that would set him back again!!! BaCON especially needs to be avoided despite influence of BRT!! ==okay just my way of expressing love for Steve and all you soo wonderful crew!!! So long now till==Mash-It!!

  2. My Samsung 65 inch Smart TV Youtube App won’t go above 720p. Youtube converts everything above that (1080p, 2K, 4K. and 8K) to 720p so no matter what you send to Youtube, they down convert it to 720p max out to Samsung TV Apps.
    I have old man vision at age 87 so I can’t see any difference in picture quality at 1080p and I can’t read the reduced size graphics anyway. Side note: most commercial TV stations broadcast at 720p to save power and reduce server load but they tell you they are broadcasting in full HD.
