Daily Summary for 5/2/2024

The Push to Delivery

Big Rig Steve officially done sometime after 16:00 CDT safely parked at a truck stop near Murfreesboro, TN to wait for our next trip.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 7:59 CDT at Huck’s truckstop at Kuttawa, KY.  With fresh coffee, BRS started the BRT liners and concluded with the countdown to start driving. BRS advised he paid the robot the parking fee.  The paid lot was 75% full.  “Plenty of free parking now” as we left.  “No word from the boss about delivery status.”

Rolled back onto I-24 south at 8:10 CDT with beautiful sunshine amongst all the green to start the day.

BRS reminisced about a previous stay at this Huck’s truckstop and then advised we are currently late for our 8:00 CDT delivery appointment.  “We just show up and see what they say.”

Near Oak Grove, KY at 8:52 CDT, BRS explains about passing his big rig and then went into a story about winter driving in Wyoming earlier in his career.

Experienced a slow down on entering into Nashville, TN at 9:48 CDT.  Nashville seems to always be an issue.

BRS advised at 9:58 CDT that the Nashville TA is now gone, only to be seen on past streams on BRT.  He also reminisced about other stays at the TA and buffet issues.  BRS said “you got to be kidding me!”  Yes, this is worth a playback to listen to this story.

Steve points out, “a plane taking off, united, taking off, steep bank to the right” occurred on the south side of Nashville at 10:11 CDT.

Streams ends at 10:27 CDT near Murfreesboro, TN.  Steve later posts on X (Twitter) at 11:59 CDT that we have been allowed on property and put in a door.  We are in “work-in” status, which means they will unload us when they can fit us in.  We later learn from Erick Miller’s trip blog that it took four hours to get unloaded.  Currently do not have a next trip.  We’ll sort that out tomorrow.

Numbers:  0 miles km to receiver/shipper.  We covered 146 miles 234 km rolling out of Kentucky and into Tennessee and completing our live delivery.

Clocks: 51:45 hours on 70 hr when we started the day.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.   Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.
