Daily Summary for 4/9/2025

Williamsburg, VA to Teays Valley, WV

Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 6:42 am EDT.  It was 33 degrees and clear as we leave the shipper near Williamsburg, VA.  “Alright, let’s get ready to go!”  We are starting our trip to Obetz, OH.  Status “on time to delivery”.  “Early start this morning, 3:00 am.”

Stopped at the Love’s near Providence Forge, VA at 7:22 am.  

Experience a slow down at 9:23 am as we climbed in elevation from 733 feet to 1944 feet near Afton, VA at 9:33 am.

Love’s stop near Covington, VA at 10:50 am.  “Ya want snickers? Get what you want, be right back.”

Welcome to West Virginia, leaving the George Washington National Forest at 11:28 am near White Sulphur Springs.

We are driving through Beckley, WV at 12:45 pm, passing “weirdo in the ditch” Greg Treadway territory.

Big Rig Steve officially done at Teays Valley, WV at the TA for the night at 2:12 pm.  BRS advised that he would have been due for a 30 minutes break within the next 28 minutes. 

Numbers:  137 miles to receiver.  We covered 447 miles rolling out of Virginia and into West Virginia.

Clocks: 2:18 hours on 11 hr,  2:55 hours on 14 hr,  58:40 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.

He started at 3:00 am this morning from the Richmond yard with his inspections and then live loaded at 5:00 am in Williamsburg (appointment was at 7:00 am, so got loaded 2 hours early).  Delivery is tomorrow at 10:00 am, so plan to leave around 7:00 am.
