Daily Summary for 4/10/2025

Teays Valley, WV via Obetz, OH to Cleveland, OH

Big Rig Travels Thursday began at 6:10 am EDT.  It was 45 degrees and dark at the TA.  We are continuing our trip to Obetz, OH.  “Allergies are sky high.  Ohhh, lovely.” “Alright, so we are leaving Teays Valley, been a rainy, rainy night.”

“So see this log truck, right here? Notice he has no hood, someone cut the corner and wiped out his whole front end while he was parked on the end” Steve advised as he rolled out of the truck stop at 6:12 am.

“I know you can’t see much now, but the sun will be coming out any minute.  Alright get ready for some hills.”  Steve has the “daytime” camera view started so that he wouldn’t need to switch in route.

As we rolled onto US 35, Steve gave a history story at 6:24 am near Windfield, WV about this road.

Crossed over the Ohio River, welcome to Ohio at 6:53 am near Gallipolis.

Rest area stop at 7:05 am near Adamsville, OH to find the Alien tape to re-secure a camera.  “I fix it good this time.”

Stop at the Love’s at 8:18 am near Circleville, OH to top off the refer tank in case the delivery turned into a drop.  Steve waited an extra minute as we were able to complete our 30 minute mandatory break early.  30 miles to go at 8:50 am to the receiver.

Recording ended on arrival to receiver at 9:28 am near Obetz, OH.

Recording resumes at 11:49 am, live unload completed.  It was 50 degrees and mostly cloudy, leaving the receiver.  Status changed to “headed to the shipper” near Cleveland, OH.

Stop at the rest area near Gallena, OH at 12:31 pm to fix a camera again.

Love’s stop near Bellville, OH at 1:12 pm, fuel for the Blue Comet and coffee for Steve.

Steve advises at 1:41 pm that he has 82 miles to go to the shipper.

We roll near Mansfield, OH, home of road crew Ryan on I-71 at 1:47 pm.

Recording ends at 3:06 pm. “Yeah!!! destination Cleveland!”
