Daily Summary for 4/30/2025

Brookhaven, MS-Ellisville, MS-Good Hope, AL back to Birmingham, AL

Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 6:23 am CDT. It was 66 and overcast at the Shell truck stop in Brookhaven, MS.  There was three recordings for today’s travel.

“Good morning everybody, let’s go play.”  We are starting our trip to our next shipper near Ellisville, MS.  We begin on I-55 then US84.  Fog sets in at 7:20 am near Collins, MS.

Arrival at shipper at 8:18 am near Ellisville, MS.  Recording ends at 8:32 am as Steve says “So our loading appointment is 9 o’clock, we will see you shortly.”

Second recording starts at 10:37 am, we are leaving the shipper.  Status changed to “on time to delivery” starting our trip to Antioch, TN.  

Love’s stop near Sandersville, MS for coffee.  Steve advised that we will wait until tomorrow for fuel when a new month starts.  We are ending April with 158 gallons to platinum, so May will will have Gold Status.

“OK, welcome to sweet home Alabama” at 12:38 pm near Cuba.  

I-20 we stop at the rest area near Tuscaloosa, AL. “Ok, let’s see what this refer alarm is about.  Hopefully not a big problem” at 1:57 pm.  As Steve gets back into the Blue Comet, “ok, no massive emergency, alright, let’s go” at 2:01 pm.

Love’s near Good Hope, AL at 3:30 pm, “This looks like a brand spankin’ new Love’s.”  We are done for the day,  only got 150 miles to go. “Oh we are not done, not done” as the recording ends at 3:39 pm.

Third recording begins at 4:25 pm, “alright I am going to head back down to Birmingham, so we have a refer problem, Thermoking won’t come to us, so we got to go to them.  It didn’t behave, so we have to drive back 48 miles.”

Arrival at Thermoking near Birmingham at 5:22 pm.  We drop the trailer in the yard so the tech can back up and work on the mess.  Steve advises the clock had 2:31 hrs remaining as the recording ended at 5:44 pm.
