Big Rig Steve ended the day at 19:06 CST completing the second season of 2023, arriving at the headquarters for Big Rig Travels. Safely back home for 4-5 days of off-time.
Bigrigtravels broadcast day started at 13:04 CST after picking up the load, as status bar changed to on time to delivery. BRS rolled north out of Edwardsville, IL.
We traveled familiar roads today which is always fun to see what has change along the route of I-55 , I-39 and US 20.
The Blue Comet arrived at the receiver in Rockford, IL at 17:50 CST. The camera was switched to British mode as we arrived to complete a drop trailer at the receiver. As we neared check in, audio was switched to stealth mode.
To BRS surprise he found locked gates and after some time Steve returned to the BC to explain they closed the gates at 17:00 CST. As he explained this, he was moving the BC and seemed to have another plan. Yes, Steve did say that he was about to be upset. As usual, Steve sorted it out and made the trailer drop. Trip complete! Last trip for second season 2023 of BRT. Woo hoo, now on to off-time as the sunset occurred.
One last quick stop at Loves 18:30 CST before leaving Rockford, IL to clean BC windshield.
As we rolled into Belvidere, IL Steve provided historical lesson on Chrysler assembly plant that started in 1965 that closed down assembly this week. Jeeps were last vehicles to be manufactured here.
Numbers: 273 miles 436 km covered today as advertised, plus travel to home. Steve went through the clocks as we rolled into town. 4:34 hours on the 11 , 5:00 hours on the 14 , 2:19 hours before a needed eight hour break. (Nope, break not required today).
As far as the clocks, nothing matters as they will all reset to fresh 70 hours when BRS returns for Season 3 of 2023 on or about Wednesday, March 8th with the freezer restocked for Lorna. Like anything else that BRS has taught us, everything is subject to change.
