Rain starts at 10:56 am as Steve was reminiscing about our past visit to Myrtle Beach, SC.
Love’s stop at 12:09 pm near Dillon, SC.
Steve discussed South of the Border tourist trap near Homer, SC at 12:30 pm.
Welcome to North Carolina at 12:33 pm near Runland.
Steve witnesses an accident at 12:53 pm, an armored truck spins out on the left side of I-95 near Lumbarton, NC.
Stops on an I-95 off ramp at 1:11 pm near Saint Pauls, NC to reset navigation.
Broadcast ends at 1:30 pm as we near the shipper near Tar Heel, NC to complete the drop and hook.
It is later learned via Mastodon that the trailer was not ready.
Broadcast resumes at 3:34 pm, 50 degrees and overcast. We are starting our trip to Middlesboro, KY.
Mass-weigh check at the Cat Scale at the WaWa truck stop near Mills, NC at 4:28 pm. Adjustments made, then found parking as Steve was needing to work out an issue with the trailer and was waiting on further instructions. Received orders to bring the trailer to Kenly, NC to resolve the issues even though this would be out of our route.
Arrived at the Love’s Speedco near Kenly at 6:19 pm. Went next door to the Petro at 7:19 pm to find parking.
Big Rig Steve officially done at 7:30 pm. Projected start time is between 6:30 and 7:00 am tomorrow. Bosses are aware that we are running late and will need a new appointment time.
Numbers: miles to receiver/shipper. We covered 239 miles. YEsterday’s drivers score is 1030, 2 drivers stars, rank was #272.
Clocks: 4:12 hours on 14 hr, 5:25 hours on 70 hr. Gain back 8:06 hours tomorrow morning.
