Daily Summary for 2/27/2024

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at safely parked at 16:07 CST Big Cabin, Oklahoma.  Short watch party started afterwards. 

Title: A windy day

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 8:02 CST, at the Love’s Tuscola, Illinois. After acquiring fresh coffee we continued our trip to Fort Worth, Texas.

Back onto I-57 south at 8:10 CST. Cloudy and breezy start to the day.

Near Effingham, IL, we exited off I-57 onto I-70 west at 9:02 CST.  Yes, we are headed towards St. Louis, MO.

Near Collinsville, IL, at 10:19 CST we entered the weigh/mass station, due to no green light.  No bypass, rolled through the fast lane with no issues. BRS said “Yeah, buddy.”

BRS points out the St. Louis arch and the downtown skyline at 10:32 CST.

Welcome to Missouri, crossing the Mississippi River at 10:34 CST. 

At 14:02 CST BRS points out road crew on the overpass. Bryce C was holding his BigRig Steve Road crew flag and waving at us at Springfield, MO.

Welcome to Oklahoma near Quapaw at 15:16 CST.

Numbers: 317 miles 510 km to receiver.  We covered  493 miles 793 km rolling out of Illinois, across Missouri and into Oklahoma.  Not bad.

Clocks: 3:02 hours on 11 hr,  5;26 hours on 14 hr,  52:25 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours for seven days.  Delivery is anytime before midnight tomorrow.  7.7 mpg today, average 62 mph.
