Big Rig Steve ended broadcast day at 17:28 MST as we arrived safely at the drop yard in Denver Colorado. Plan is to drop trailer and find a hole and spend the night in. Also, Steve was going to reach deep into his refrigerator freezer to see if Lorna had left anything good to eat for supper as Steve had been hungry since arriving at the shipper in Greeley.

Steve started the day early by broadcasting the changing weather conditions in Longmont, CO at 00:17 MST of winter storm Olive for the enjoyment of BRTRC and any weather watchers from our view of I-25 traffic from the truck parking that BRS had returned to after delivery was completed to spend the night and continue completing the ten hour break that had been started prior to going to the receiver.
Steve’s had also posted a blog explaining to all what had occurred and what was planned for so Steve could get some sleep without worrying the BRTRC was questioning what was going on.
After completing the break, 10:20 MST BRS drove to the Circle ⭕️ K next door to the lot for coffee. Yes, two cups a regular plain coffee and Steve’s favorite Texas Pecan. So why not get two. Woo hoo!
As we left at 10:40 MST BRS explained he had turned down a trip that he did not want to take and what we were doing instead today. The reward for today’s travel is noted at the end of the summary.
We then returned to Denver via I-25 to the drop lot to leave this dry van trailer and pick up a good Refer trailer. On the way down snow seemed to be on the increase. Steve also said must have been at least twenty emails coming in based on all the tones that occurred along the way. Hoping that they were not changing plans again for him.
12:40 MST we left again with the fresh trailer and we didn’t have any issues. On the way past the Walmart BRS had to dodge what looked like from a distance another easy chair as we approached closer, it was a large box or bag in the road.
We backed into the loading dock door of the shipper in Greeley CO at 14:20 MST and loading went quickly. Almost longer to get the bills than to get loaded and closing the trailer doors.
As we left for Denver, Steve noted we are heavy so mass / weigh would be needed.
Hudson, CO Loves ❤️was the spot to accomplish that task. Issues with poor cell service proved to be a problem with no communication with the cat scale. BRS was able to side the trailer tandems to get them to a California legal position “California 40 foot rule”. As we left and rolled on to I-76 we were racing a train to the left.
In Commerce City at the TA truck stop BRS tried again on the cat scale as he noted he would not be able to sleep unless he was sure load was not overweight for the next driver. Communicating…. yes we were legal. Steve noted that “We do not leave problems for another driver “ BRS would note the mass/weights on the bills for the next driver to have for reference. BRS has had enough of those type of issues recently that we will not contribute to creating issues for other drivers to contend with. “You treat people the way you want to be treated.”
From the TA to the yard we witnessed serval questionable driving techniques including serval vehicles driving without lights on running red stop lights and finally a Large Coach Bus pulling out of the Walmart right in front of BRS.
All in all it was another good day for Bigrigtravels
No numbers were discussed today. We did covered the advertised 121 miles 195 km to Denver up to Greeley and back to Denver
Clocks we started with 16:02 hours on 70 hour and gain back 8:17 hours tomorrow.
After last night Steve deserved a good night rest. No time table for leaving tomorrow to pickup preloaded trailer. Weather in the morning will determine start time.
On a good note we have a long trip lined up for the next couple of days to get us back to a warmer spot. No snowman camera tonight.
