Daily Summary for 2/19/2024

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 13:09 CST safely parked at BRT World Headquarters in Belvidere, Illinois.

Title: Delivery and a trip home

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 9:10 CST at Sapp Brothers in Peru, Illinois.  Rolled across the street to Speedway for coffee.  Back onto I-80 east at 9:23 CST, continuing the final leg of the trip to Joliet, IL.  

Arrived at the receiver at 10:30 CST, check in occurs and it is then learned from BRS that the live unload was changed to a drop.

BRS said at 10:42 CST, “drop trailer? How awesome is that?”

Status is changed to Bobtail Bob, to home for time off the truck at 10:50 CST.

As we roll towards home, BRS advised that we had averaged 8.3 mpg for the entire trip.  “Pretty good”.

Arrives at Love’s near Hampshire, IL at 12:10 CST, fuel for Blue Comet. Then BRS takes backroads of US 20 to BRT World Headquarters. He points out things of interest along the way.

Numbers:  0 miles km to receiver/shipper.  We covered 159 miles 255 km rolling within Illinois.

Clocks:7:33 hours on 11 hr,  9:34 hours on 14 hr,  8:28 hours on 70 hr.  Would have gained back 1:28 hours tomorrow morning. None of the clocks matter since we are going on off time and will restart at 70 hours.  Love’s status is 61 gallons to Gold for March.  We averaged 13.1 mpg as Bobtail Bob today.
