Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 19:02 CST safely parked at Peru, Illinois.

Title: The long push

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 8:47 CST at Elm Creek, Nebraska Sapp Brothers.  Broadcast started, BRS had just witnessed a collision of a big rig pulling out and a pickup backing up.  Insurance exchange was going on in front of the Blue Comet.  

Also, a road crew meetup had occurred last night after that broadcast had ended.

Beautiful sunshine as we rolled back on I-80 east continuing our trip to Joliet, IL.

Approaching Lincoln, NE at 11:06 CST.

Entering Omaha, NE at 11:50 CST.

Crossing the Missouri River at 12:01 CST, welcome to Iowa. 

At the Pilot in Council Bluffs, IA at 12:05 CST, we stopped for 50 gallons of fuel, coffee and a road crew meet up occurred.

We stopped at the Loves at Newton, IA at 15:06 CST for our 30 minute break.  Iowa Speedway was visible in the distance. 

BRS points out at 17:35 CST near Davenport, IA “Look, the CAT scale repair truck” as it rolled past the Blue Comet.

Near LeClaire, IA at 17:48 as we crossed the Mississippi, welcome to the third state of the day!  The home state of BRT…Illinois!!

Numbers:  64 miles 102 km to receiver.  We covered  578 miles 930 km rolling out of Nebraska, through Iowa and into Illinois.  BRS said it was a “Gold Star Day”

Clocks: 1:14 hours on 11 hr,  3:16 hours on 14 hr,  4:37 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 8:32 hours tomorrow morning. 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.   Delivery is at 13:30 CST.  There is onsite parking, so may show up early.  This receiver has had mixed results when we’ve delivered before, taking as little at 3 hours or as much as 24 hours.  Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.
