Daily Summary for 2/16/2024

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 15:13 MST safely parked near Sinclair, Wyoming.  Stopped earlier than planned due to winter weather and the other less than cautious drivers.

Title: Let’s go play in the mountains

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 8:04 MST at the Love’s in Springville, Utah.  Rolled back onto the big road of I-15 north continuing our trip to Joliet, IL.

Rolling onto I-215 at 8:54 near Murray, UT, BRS said “Ok, let’s go play in the mountains.”

Exiting off of I-215 we got onto I-80 west leaving Salt Lake City, UT at 9:05 MST heading up the canyon. 

Near Coalville, UT, as a second stream started, became snowy.  

As we approached Evanston, WY, we rolled past the mass/weigh station on a bypass at 10:20 MST.  BRS said “green light.  Next eastbound weigh station is 600 miles away in North Platte, NE.  Welcome to Wyoming, by the way.”

BRS spotted a train up on a hill to the right as we approached the Love’s near Green River, WY at 11:45 MST for a coffee stop and a 30 minute break. 

Just before the tunnel, at 12:29 MST, BRS points out a dinosaur tanker and honks Blue Comet’s horn as we go through the tunnel.

Steve advises at 12:47 MST, “here comes the snow”.  

We stop at Wamsutter, WY Love’s for 74 gallons of fuel at 13:56 MST.  It is snowing lightly, and BRS pushes on until his final stop for the day. 

Numbers:  approximately 1184 miles 1905 km to receiver.  We covered  324 miles 521 km rolling out of Utah and into Wyoming.  111 gallons to Love’s Gold status for March.

Clocks: 4:46 hours on 11 hr,  6:22 hours on 14 hr,  6:33 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 8:20 hours tomorrow morning.
