Daily Summary for 12/30/2025
Jurupa Valley, CA to Tolleson, AZ
Big Rig Travels day began at 6:18 am PST. It is 57 degrees, cloudy and dark at the Flying J near Jurupa Valley, CA. Fresh coffee and danishes were acquired as we were continuing our trip to Tolleson, AZ. “Alrighty, good morning everybody.”
Love’s stop near Cochella, CA at 8:16 am. Acquired fresh Love’s coffee as we had had an issue with the Flying J coffee lid coming off and spilling onto Steve’s lap. Steve had hoped to meet up with Fosterapp, but will have to try next time as he was unable to respond to email on time.
“Welcome to Arizona and now we are no longer stuck to 55”. He is done with the 55 mph CA restriction speed for trucks at 10:09 am PST near Blythe. We also lose an hour as we enter Mountain Standard Time.
Passing exit number 17 on I-10, near Quartzite, AZ at 11:26 am MST.
Rest area stop at 12:30 pm to walk around a little bit near Tonopah, AZ.
Big Rig Steve officially done at the Pilot near Tolleson, AZ at 1:36 pm. A meetup occurred with Erick Miller, a moderator who also writes the BRT trip logs for each trip on the website, and his son Ryan. BRS gives them a tour of the Blue Comet. Broadcast ended at 2:18 pm as Steve said the phone was about to overheat.
Numbers: 6 miles to receiver, we have an appt at 5:30 am for a live unload. Will plan to start at 4:30 am, no broadcast until after we deliver. Snowman will be working for the viewing. We covered 326 miles.
Clocks: 5:08 hours on 11 hr, 6:21 hours on 14 hr, 49:17 hours on 70 hr. Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.

of course Quartzite deserves a mention with a gazillion rvers there and all the free camping. and the Big Tent starting soon.
go to RVERTV for today’s video on Quartzite and the vendors. the Rock and Gem Show starts in a couple days and the Big Tent a week later.
