Pasco, WA to Madras, OR

Big Rig Travels day began at 7:06 am PST.  It was 40 degrees and clear at the Love’s in Pasco, WA.

We are starting our dead head trip to shipper near Richland.  BRS reminisces about the former Flying J truck stop.

Arrival at the shipper at 7:40 am to check in.  Status changed to “on time to delivery”, and starting our trip to Shafter, CA at 10:43 am.  

Love’s stop at 11:16 am near Pasco, WA to visit the CAT scale and get fresh coffee. “OK…Oh, me!  We are legal, but only by 100 pounds which means we can’t get fuel so going to move one notch to see if we can put some fuel on.”  “Recheck, we moved one hole and now its heavier, how is that possible.”  “Third check, ok, now 33,300 and 33,600.  Before it was 33,900 33,100 so we moved 600 pounds to back so we can go add some fuel to get us through the mountains.”

At 12:22 pm, welcome to Oregon near Umatilla.  Weigh station says “bypass” but Prepass says don’t pass.  Goes in to check to be safe and all is good, no issues.

Driving along the picturesque Columbia River region and then off the main road to US-97 passing through some small towns and countryside.  

Big Rig Steve officially done at 3:38 pm at Love’s in Madras, OR

Numbers: 743 miles to receiver.  We covered 245 miles and a live load

Clocks: 4:42 hours on 14 hr, 15:17 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 7:13 hours tomorrow morning. 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.
