Daily Summary for 10/26/2023

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 19:13 CDT safely parked near Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Title: We have a problem- Trailer Refer needed repair 

Big Rig Travels broadcast day at 7:31 MDT at Petro in Laramie, Wyoming.

7:40 MDT popped across the street for Loves coffee. 

8:30 MDT “and batten down the hatches fog monsters” as we get closer to Cheyenne, Wyoming 

9:17 MDT moisture, was beginning to collect and make the big road I-80 wet. 

9:23 MDT “silly trucker, has no trailer tail lights. Come on man, speed up or slow down. He decided to go the same speed with no trailer lights whatsoever.“ BRS stated as we passed the Welcome to Nebraska sign near Bushnell, NE. 

9:43 MDT BRS stated “OK got to turn on the heat. I am freezing“near Kimball, NE.

15:35 CDT near Grand Island, NE Big Rig Steve stopped at the rest area to determine what was going on with the warning light on the reefer. “We have a problem.“ BRS quickly continued on towards Loves ❤️near Aurora, NE 

15:58 CDT stopped at the Loves near Aurora for reefer fuel ⛽️ and to continue troubleshooting the reefer (starting unit). BRS, with the help of the bosses, was instructed to return to Grand Island where we were third in line to get repairs for the reefer. 

17:06 arrived in Grand Island for the reefer repair at the Carrier repair center. Carrier tech started instantly working on the repair. The repair was successfully completed. We continued back onto the big road I-80 eastbound. 

We soon made up for the 50 miles lost during the return trip to get the repair.

Numbers : approximately 1282 miles 2063 km to the receiver, we covered  total 537 miles 864 km, which included our backtracking for the refer repair. We rolled out of Wyoming into Nebraska and back into Central time zone today. Our eight day running total ? miles ? km 

Clocks : 1:37 hours on 11 hr, 2:38  hours on 14 hr, 29:38 hours on 70 hr. Do not gain back any hours until Monday morning. We are 357 gallons away from Loves Diamond status for November.
