Daily Summary for 10/20/2025

Anderson, IN to Gary, IN to Belvidere, IL

Big Rig Travels day began at 12:04 pm EDT.  It was 58 degrees and sunshine near Anderson, IN.  We are starting our trip north (originally Melrose Park, IL, but changed to Gary, IN).  As we were leaving the shipper, BRS advised that some type of computer issue had prevented our pickup from yesterday.  As we left at 12:06 pm a train was crossing in front of the Blue Comet and stopped.  Eventually it started moving and cleared out of the way.

Love’s stop near Pendleton, IN at 12:26 pm to visit the CAT scale.  “Verifying, verifying, processing, processing, finalizing, ok we are legal.  A little heavier in the back then I would prefer, but for this short trip we will not adjust it.”  Put fuel in all the tanks.  We acquired a chicken sandwich, but no coffee.

I-65 rest area stop near Lebanon, IN at 1:52 pm to check messages and reorganize the truck.

Love’s stop near Lafayette, IN at 2:36 pm for coffee. 

Back onto I-65 at 2:51 pm.  BRS advised the load is now changed to a drop at the Gary yard.

Arrival near Gary, IN at 3:25 pm CDT to complete the drop.

Broadcast resumes at 4:07 pm.  Leaving Gary, IN “we are bobtail bob of course.  We will be back here on Monday.”

We had approximately 2:46 hrs left on our 70 hour clock to get back to Belvidere, IL BRT headquarters.

As we arrive near HQ Belvidere, IL, Steve advised that most likely we would return on Monday.  Broadcast ends at 6:14 pm.

Numbers:  105 to Platinum for November.  We rolled through Indiana and into Illinois.

Clocks: No clocks discussed as they would reset on time off.No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.
