Haw River, NC to Jeffersonville, OH
Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 8:42 am EDT. It was 64 degrees and partly cloudy at the Flying J near Haw River, NC. We are continuing our trip to Anderson, IN. The load was picked up yesterday. First thing “we need coffee, right? right?”
I-40/I-85, BRS advised we have almost 600 miles to go to delivery and we only have 10:40 hrs on our 70 hour clock, so we won’t make it all the way today.
Advised at 9:42 am that we will get some backroads today.
Weigh mass station at 10:27 am near Mt Airy, NC on I-74. No issues.
Then, on I-77 near Max Meadows, VA at 11:00 am, BRS states that the refer has shut down. We need to find a place to stop address the issue. Seven minutes later, a Love’s stop fits the bill. A reset of the controls and all is working again. He also gets coffee at this stop before continuing.
Welcome to West Virginia at 12:26 pm near Bluefield, as we exited a tunnel.
Welcome to Ohio at 3:20 pm near Gallipolis.
Love’s stop near Bidwell, OH at 3:31 pm for fresh coffee.
Rest area stop at 3:50 pm to complete the mandatory 30 minute break.
BRS spots a person fishing right off from the bridge on US35 at 5:35 pm near Washington Court House.
Big Rig Steve officially done at the Love’s near Jeffersonville, OH at 6:01 pm.
Numbers: 140 miles to receiver a drop when we get there. We covered 426 miles rolling out of NC, through VA, WV and into OH. A watch party was started. Projected start time tomorrow is 6 am.
Clocks: 1:39 hours on 11 hr. Gain back 12:19 hours tomorrow morning.
