Backroads of Missouri
Big Rig Travels day began at 7:28 am CST, it was 33 degrees and cloudy skies near Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. We are continuing our trip to Golden, CO.
“OK, welcome to Missouri” at 7:31 am near Thayer. Yes, we had rolled out of the parking lot and into Missouri.
Back on US63. Steve advised that A service and Calbit service are due, plus we need the bunk heater issues addressed, possibly when we are in Denver.
Steve also noted, and apologized for, that youtube was playing commercials every 5 minutes on the field trip yesterday afternoon. He has adjusted it back to the way it should be, back to every 24 minutes.
“Welcome to West Plains, population 11986. I think they’re all in bed still” at 7:57 am.
Love’s stop near Willow Springs, MO at 8:25 am.
Mass weigh station, no bypass near Cabool, MO at 8:47 am, but no issues either. Steve advised he didn’t remember this one, maybe they’d always been closed when we went through here. There was a truck in the other lane, getting a full inspection.
Near Collins, MO, we stop at the Pilot at 11:06 am.
Steve advised we were crossing Truman Lake Deepwater Arm near Deepwater, MO at 11:52 am on MO-13.
Love’s near Harrisonville, MO, fuel for the Blue Comet at 12:44 pm. Steve advised, “let’s see how much fuel we can stuff in this puppy.”
“Alright, welcome to Kansas” near Leadwood at 1:24 pm on I-435.
Rolling onto the Kansas Turnpike (I-70) near Kansas City, KS at 1:45 pm.
“Alright, downtown Topeka” at 2:30 pm.
“Welcome to Flint Hills” at 2:52 pm.
Big Rig Steve driving completed at 4:01 pm at the Love’s near Abilene, KS. Steve went over the numbers today and the end of the recording, and even played the closing song (The 126ers: On my way home).
A live watch party was going to begin at 4:26 pm.

Numbers: 458 miles to receiver, drop as soon as we get there on Monday (1/27). We covered 462 miles rolling out of Arkansas through Missouri and into Kansas. 28 gallon to Platinum.
Clocks: 3:07 hours on 11 hr, 4:39 hours on 14 hr, 4:34 hours on 70 hr. Gain back 10:09 hours tomorrow morning.
