Stopped at the Love’s near Tolleson, AZ at 2:48 pm to visit the CAT scale. “Oh, we are legal. We are legal for California. California Legal.” We then take on some fuel. Today is the last day to get a free hot dog at Love’s. We are 107 away from Platinum at 3:09 pm. It is now 106 degrees.
“The mountains are going to be a SLOW drive”. BRS also advises that the speed limit will be 55 mph for trucks in CA.
A short slow down on I-10 at 4:57 near Salome, AZ to pass a big rig. “We’re fully maxed out, how can you be that slow.”
“Welcome to Quartzite” at 5:08 pm.
“Alrighty, crossing the Colorado River” at 5:34 pm PDT. Welcome to California at 5:35 pm.
California Ag inspection station at 5:36 pm near Blythe, CA. (There was no chickening out here)
We now have the 55 mph speed limit in effect for big rigs and vehicles pulling trailers.
Big Rig Steve officially done at 7:35 pm at the Flying J near Thousand Palms, CA (near Palm Springs, CA). Free parking spot. “Its a hot day today, busy day.”
Numbers: miles to receiver/shipper. We covered 289 miles plus a delivery and a pick up. We deliver this tomorrow.
Clocks: 3:56 hours on 11 hr, 3:56 hours on 14 hr, 26:23 hours on 70 hr. Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.
