Daily Summary for 4/22/2025

Belvidere, IL to DeKalb, IL to Findlay, OH

Big Rig Travels Tuesday began at 6:53 am CDT.  It is 42 degrees and partly cloudy near Belvidere, IL.  BRS summarized off time broadcasts and that bobble heads are now in the store as we started our day.  “We need to go the long way as we need fuel for our trailer.”  Steve takes us on US 20 west then I-90 to I-39 south.   Steve then turns Zelda down, our status is deadheading to the shipper.  We have a 9:00 am appointment.  

Steve points out buildings on both sides of the US20 road at 6:57 pm.  The old Chrysler plant and the new Walmart distribution center. 

“Feels like a Monday, but really a Tuesday” at 7:17 am.

Love’s stop near Monroe Center, IL to top off refer fuel tank at 7:22 am.  

We exit I-39 and on to I-88 near Rochelle, IL at 7:58 am.

BRS points out the future home of Kraft at 8:16 am near DeKalb, IL.

Arrival at the shipper at 8:19 am to check in.  Status changed to “on time to delivery” as we leave the shipper at 8:58 am. 

Welcome to Eastern Time Zone, we lose an hour, now 12:25 pm near New Carlisle, IN.

We stop at a Travel Plaza/Service Station near Elkhart, IN for coffee at 12:49 pm.

We exit into road construction mess near our arrival at the Speedway near Findlay, OH.

Big Rig Steve officially done at safely parked at 4:16 pm  “That’s it , all she wrote for today.  Delivery is Wednesday morning.”

It is learned the next day, that delivery occurred as planned and returned to Speedway for the remainder of the day.  There was a live watch party (Wednesday 4/24) where three new songs were released about BRT and the road crew.  

Numbers:  We covered 392 miles rolling out of Illinois, through Indiana and into Ohio.

Clocks: 3:35 hours on 11 hr,  4:50 hours on 14 hr,  61:29 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
