Bobtail Bob-Trailer Hunt-Deadheading

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 17:08 CDT safely parked at Oak Creek, Wisconsin.  BRS tried to find parking, “drop trailer, bobtail, bobtail”, we created our own parking. Steve said, no one will bother us here.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 10:32 CDT at Belvidere, Illinois.  Steve grabs fresh Speedway coffee on a mostly sunny start.  

He rolls out Bobtail Bob to begin our trailer hunt trip to Manteno, IL.  BRS said he had been sick the last couple of days.  Also, noted he had completed the DOT physical and he is good for another year.  

Back onto the big road I-90, otherwise known as the tollway at 10:48 CDT. Steve advised that it had rained or snowed each day of off time, except the last two days.

BRS “welcome to downtown Manteno” as we came upon a train at 12:43 CDT.

First broadcast of the day ended at 12:49 CDT while BRS was on the trailer hunt in the yard.

Broadcast resumes at 14:15 CDT, status changed to “Deadheading to the shipper.”

It was noted in chat that the first trailer chosen had tire issues, so BRS picked a different trailer to avoid having to wait for repairs.

Weigh/mass station at 14:32 CDT, no bypass, but we roll through with no issues.  BRS said, “wave as you drive through.”

I-57 near Calumet Park, IL, BRS reversed directions to get onto I-294.  BRS was pointing out planes on I-294 at 15:54 CDT.  

Welcome to Wisconsin at 16:29 CDT near Pleasant Prairie.

Third broadcast of the day resumes at 16:52 CDT near Sturteuant, WI.  BRS notes that phone went into an unplanned update.

Numbers:  124 miles 199 km to shipper.  We covered 253 miles 407 km including finding a trailer.  

Clocks: 5:40 hours on 11 hr,  6:33 hours on 14 hr,  63:17 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.   Pick up is tomorrow near Appleton, WI.  Trip will take us to Gaffney, SC.  Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.
