Big Rig Steve arrived near East St.Louis and safely parked for the night at our usual location. Clocks were stopped at 19:27 CST. BRS answered the questions of the day prior to searching for supper as the broadcast day ended.
Today’s title is: Trailer issues, here we go again
Big Rig Travels third season of 2023 started 8:40 CST at the normal starting location: Speedway truck stop in Belvidere, Illinois. The home town of BRT World Headquarters.
Trip over to Rockford, IL on Hwy 20 to pickup the preloaded trailer (yes, same city that the last trip of season two terminated) went well. That is where luck ran out, as the trailer had issues of a missing mudflap and severely damaged bracket that Big Rig Steve had to manipulate away from rubbing the trailer tire. We had drawn another load in a dry van to start the season. Similar to the end of season two where we had been pulling dry van loads.
Next stop was the Loves near Rockford, IL for the repair and replacement. Yes, luck continued to suffer as they did not have needed parts to repair. So we continued on I-39 to Petro truck service near Rochelle, IL where Steve parked to check in at the shop at 11:20 CST. Yes, we had to wait for the shop to have an opening to complete the repair. While we waited, Steve played the new audio liners that our BRT announcer Wally 3 USAFWR had recently released. We rolled into the shop at 13:47 CST where BRS advised service attendant Blue Comet currently at 98,732 miles 158,893 km.
Yes, 15:12 CTS BRS was finally going and the pressure was on now to remain on time to delivery. As we left, Steve advised some food items that he has brought with this trip. Watch the stream back to find out what foods Steve is hiding from Lorna this season.

Numbers for today: 402 miles 647 km to delivery. Appointment window is 7:00-10:00 CST. The odds of making on time delivery window is going to be difficult. May need to wait until Friday morning if we are late. We covered 318 miles 511 km today including trailer pick up and repair stop. Clocks: 4:35 hours on the 11 hr, 2:11 hours on the 14 hr, 58:33 hours on the 70 hr.

We are currently at Platinum Loves reward status for this month. Will not get to add gallons this month for April rewards as BRS instructed by company to only fuel at Pilot and Flying hook until further notice due to fuel programs company has enrolled in.
