Stratford, MO
Big Rig Travels day began at 6:22 am CST at the Love’s in Stratford, MO. Fresh coffee acquired. It was 57 and overcast. We are continuing our trip to Springfield, MO.
Arrival at the shipper near Springfield, MO at 6:43 am. No one is around and the sign shows it is open Monday through Friday. We were supposed to load at dock 3, outside the caves between 7:00-9:00 am (Saturday). Sign also instructs drivers to have 2-3 load locks and he has only one. We leave to the nearby Maverick truck stop at 6:52 am to check for load locks, but none available there. We return to shipper near the caves again and they are still closed.
Head back to where we started the day at the Love’s near Stratford, MO, arrive at 7:14 am to search for load locks, but none available. Go across the street to the TA and we were successful at 7:28 am. We headed back to the shipper arriving at 7:43 am and they are still closed.
Return to the Maverick next door to wait for further instructions. A watch party starts at 7:52 am.
At 10:03 we get instructions from the bosses to go back to the shipper to a different location to check in there.
Arrived at 10:08 am back at the caves. “We are to go into the caves. Nobody told us on the weekends they load inside the caves.” We start to enter at 10:22 am. Broadcast drops at 10:23 am.
Broadcast resumes at 11:45 am. Now we are starting our trip to Dickson, TN.
Stop for coffee back at the Maverick at 11:54 am.
Love’s stop at 1:42 pm near Willow Springs, MO.
Love’s stop at 4:15 pm near Sikeston, MO. Cat scale weigh mass check to confirm we are legal.
Big Rig Steve officially done at 4:20 pm, we found parking.
Numbers: 221 miles to receiver, drop anytime before 3:00 pm. We covered 263 miles. Drivers score is 1026, 3 driver stars. Rank is 522.
Clocks: 3:27 hours on 11 hr, 3:27 hours on 14 hr, 15:26 hours on 70 hr. Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
