Coolant Leak on the Blue Comet

Big Rig Steve broadcast officially done at 2:06 pm EDT near the company shop in Greer, South Carolina.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 9:55 am at the Love’s near Wemassee, SC, 81 degrees and sunshine.  Resuming our trip to Warren, Ohio.  He gets back on to I-95 north.

Steve requests repair on the coolant leak on the Blue Comet from his bosses and a repower of the load due to our low hours that got depleted due to detours and hurricane related delays.

Stopped at the Love’s near Orangeburg, SC at 11:04 am.  Fuel was acquired.  He reached Platinum for October.

Stopped at the QT at 1:52 am near Greer, SC.  At 2:00 pm, BRS advised, this is the only store with power, it had just be restored.  They had no coffee.  As we continued on, BRS noted that power was hit and miss with different properties.  

Numbers:  None discussed. 

Clocks: No clocks. 

There was a Twitter/X update later on that the terminal shop power had come back at 2:00 pm, but all the staff was out until Tuesday morning.  A further update (on 10/1/2024 Tuesday) that the Blue Comet is in the Detroit Diesel Shop there in South Carolina. They are doing a recall on the rocker arms and then will determine the cause of the coolant leak.  They won’t have an answer until Thursday.  Monitor Twitter/X, Facebook and website for continued updates.

  4. Did Srteve consider that the Flux Capacitor went bad?? Has been reported that Flux Capacitor are under a recall for leaks!! Okay all this none sense is just my way of showing love for Steve and all you wonderfull BRT Crew!! Blessings wishes to all Jim M

  5. It is now 10/4/24, sure would be nice if we could get an update if one is available.

    • As of yesterday, sounded like all would be fixed by mid day today. Fingers crossed.

  6. Thank you Steve. Good to hear from you here on ‘YOUR’ website. I personally don’t do any of the social media sites because it’s just more Personal ID’s and passwords to deal with. My old mind already has too much clutter.
