Daily Summary for 7/3/2024

The day that continues

Big Rig Steve officially done at 17:02 EDT safely parked near Broadview Heights, OH travel plaza.  It was an end to a day that had started yesterday.  Steve was getting tired and needed to nap, eat a meal and go to bed.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 1:20 EDT at the receiver near Finlay, OH.  Delivery completed.  We had 2:12 hours remaining on our 14 hour clock after doing a split.

We started our trip to the shipper near Bryan, OH.  Stopped at the Love’s near North Baltimore, OH at 1:42 EDT for coffee.  BRS ended up having to back out of the fuel island in order to pull through that mess, “ain’t got time to wait on these silly people.”

Stopped at the Napoleon, OH Love’s as we needed to find parking. “Bobtail, bobtail, that’s it…we found a spot.” We were safely parked at 2:43 EDT.  We had 27 miles to go to the shipper at this point for an open window appointment of 7:00 to 14:00 EDT.  We had covered yesterday and today to this point 498 miles including our live delivery.

At this point in time, Steve advised we had 1:24 hours on our 11 hr, 0:53 on our 14 hr, and 49:54 on our 70 hour clock.  We needed to complete the split as we could not continue to move until after 11:00 EDT.  Steve turned on the snowman as the stream ended.

Broadcast resumes at 11:21 EDT at a trailer washout near Napoleon, OH.  Arrival at the shipper at 12:08 EDT for check in at Bryan, OH.

Backed into the dock door which was inside the building for our live load at 12:38 EDT.  Our status changed to On time to delivery at 14:14 EDT.  Steve pointed out the unusual, colorful water tower as we left the shipper.

Steve was going to drive as far as he could with the remaining hours that he had available.

Numbers:  334 miles to receiver.  Delivery is anytime before midnight on 7/4 near Palmyra, PA.  We covered 194 miles since loading at the shipper including our live load rolling within Ohio.

Clocks: 6:03 hours on 11 hr,  6:30 hours on 14 hr,  45:21 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
