Daily Summary for 7/25/2024

Overnight driving

Big Rig Steve broadcast officially done at the receiver in San Antonio, TX.  No recording allowed on property so stream ended at 3:56 CDT.  He will be taking a couple days off, maybe starting back on Saturday depending on freight.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 00:47 CDT at the TA near Jarrell, TX>  Just after midnight and getting started for the day with fuel obtained along with coffee before starting our second overnight drive.  His coffee ends up being cold and found some coconut candy for his mother.  He teases something will happen tomorrow at 10:30 CDT, and will update us after it happens.  (Tomorrow is BRS 60th Birthday!!)

Slow down in Austin, TX with some construction on the opposite side and cop waving traffic through red light at 01:50 CDT.  Nice views of Austin’s nighttime skyline noted around 2:00 CDT.

Stopped at 2:52 CDT at the Pilot in New Braunfels, TX for coffee.

Arrives at receiver in San Antonio, TX at 3:41 CDT.

Numbers:  0 miles to receiver/shipper.  We covered about 150 miles rolling within Texas

Clocks: hours on 11 hr,  hours on 14 hr,  hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.

    Steve, you are correct about the double decking of Interstate 35. That is part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX). More information about that subject can be found at the following link: http://www.texashighwayman.com/i35nex.shtml. No doubt that is much needed due to the growth that is taking place in the greater San Antonio metropolitan area. I do not know whether or not large trucks will be permitted on those express lanes.
