Daily Summary for 6/5/2024

City of Flags

Big Rig Steve broadcast ended at 10:14 EDT waiting for dock door assignment near Findlay, Ohio.  It was later learned in the afternoon watch party that it took an extended amount of time to get to the dock.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 5:35 EDT in Indianapolis, IN.  Early morning start with a repowered load from another driver on our way to Findlay, OH.  Status is changed to “On time to delivery”.

BRS story time at 6:19 EDT near Greenfield, IN, BRS apparently describes a weird dream from last night.

Welcome to Ohio at 7:06 EDT as we rolled into weigh/mass station. Steve said “We are not even heavy.”  No issues.  Apparently they just wanted to look at us.

Arrival at Love’s near Sidney, OH at 8:10 EDT, BRS wisely parked out of the way of the fuel island traffic to get coffee.  At 8:21 EDT BRS said “we ain’t waiting for nobody, you want to play games, we’ll just drive around you.”   His choice paid off immensely.  Rolled back on to I-75 north.

Near Findlay, OH at 9:32 EDT BRS said “Look, look, they’re building a new truck stop, right there, yeah buddy, that’s what we need, truck stops for you and me.”  Steve had also pointed out that we were in flag city as the water towers had flags painted on them.

Arrived in queue for the gait check in for the receiver at 9:38 EDT.  Steve advised that we do have our next trip which picks up tomorrow.  During a watch party later in the afternoon, BRS advised we were done for the day, delivery complete, we started early, will make our way to shipper tomorrow.

Numbers:  We covered 242 miles 389 km rolling out of Indiana and into Ohio.

Clocks: 6:05 hours on 11 hr,  3:00 hours on 14 hr,  13:37 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 7:43 hours tomorrow morning.
