Daily Summary for 5/30/2024

Beginning an East Coast Trip

Big Rig Steve officially done at 13:55  CDT safely parked near South Holland, Illinois.  A watch party ensued, some with BRS muted so he could take care of other business as chat continued with a fuel island view for the road crew.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 6:17 CDT near Oshkosh, WI at the Planeview Truck stop. Beautiful sunny morning as we roll back on to I-41 north.  “Good morning everybody, how you doing?” BRS guessed on today’s load temp to be 33 degrees, that which he explained could be easily adjusted upon arrival at the shipper.

Arrival at shipper near Weyauwega, WI at 7:05 CDT.  Blue Comet backed into a door for the live load at 7:19 CDT.  “There we go.”  BRS went into the back of Blue Comet to put a burrito into the microwave to warm up for breakfast as we waited and got a story behind the burrito purchase earlier this morning.

Status changed to “on time to delivery” at 8:36 CDT as BRS starts the trip to Delanco, NJ.

BRS said, “Well this is a scenic route that we have never been on before.” at 9:17 CDT.  Then, pointed out as we were crossing a drawbridge at 9:20 CDT near Oshkosh, WI “cool beans!!”

We were rolling through Milwaukee at 10:50 CDT on I-41 south.

A short time later, while on I-94, we ended up in a slow down possibly due to ball game traffic?  At 11:17 CDT, BRS points out a stadium on the right side of the road which was later determined by road crew to be the Brewer’s baseball stadium with the roof open.

BRS pointed out Lake Michigan at 11:21 CDT, he states he can see it, but we can’t.

New streams started at 11:24 and 11:56 CDT.

Welome to Illinois at 11:59 CDT.

Steve noted that the navigation showed I-94 was all red through Chicago, so opted to herd Blue Comet around Chicago on I-294.
