Pennsylvania: Backroads, Big Roads and Tunnels

Big Rig Steve officially done at 18:24 EDT safely parked near Bentleyville, Pennsylvania Pilot with a fuel island view.  BRS says “$18 Pay to Park Here.”  Watch party starts for the Road Crew and BRS chats until 21:20 EDT.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 11:52 EDT at the Love’s near Middletown, PA after waiting for next trip and earning a 34 hour restart.  “We are Bobtail Bob” to the shipper via beautiful scenery on backroads of PA.  “You all don’t mind Pennsylvania backroads do you?”  BRS points out at 12:06 EDT, “we need to bring our electric bike out here, lots of trails.  A few minutes later, he advised that we worked on website to help phone users.  Now, temporarily need to go to youtube site to get live broadcast.

At 12:32 EDT arrived near shipper and broadcast stops.  

In Lebanon, PT at 13:27 EDT leaving with the preloaded trailer.  “On time to delivery”, local roads to Love’s in Jonestown, PA.  CAT scale stop for mass/weigh station then fuel, coffee and a chicken sandwich.

BRS was onto I-81 west and advised “we got a whole bunch of hills on I-76.”

Blue Mountain tunnels near Newburg, PA.  BRS quoted” back to back tunnels” near Willow Hill, PA.  On to I-76 at 15:44 EDT.

Stream lost at 15:56 EDT, but restarted at 15:59 EDT near Burnt Bains, PT after losing signal in the Tuscarora Tunnel.

On to I-70 at 16:50 EDT “Trucks and buses left lane only” near Manns Choice, PA. BRS noted after alarm beep at 16:55 EDT that’s my new TPG alarm for aunt J and Lorna freezer Theft Prevention Gadget.

Broadcast resumes at 17:05 near New Berlin, PA after losing signal in the Allegheny Tunnel.  

Numbers:  371 miles 597 km to receiver.  We covered 216 miles 346 km rolling in Pennsylvania including pickup of trailer at customer.

Clocks: 4:37 hours on 11 hr,  6:42 hours on 14 hr,  62:58 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning. 

 

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.   Delivery tomorrow at Mooresville, IN when we can drop whenever we get there.  Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.

  1. This is for the 14th. Not gonna wait. What an interesting day. Poor Steve. The Boss didn’t answer the question, “why now”?
    I’m going with the software update and companies will do strange things in a bad economy.
    Reminded me of my retirement at 63 instead of 65.
    Boss asked me to do something against my beliefs. And he knew it.
    I’d been there 19 years so could draw my 401K immediately.
    They threw a going away party which had never been done there. And nice severance check.
