Daily Summary for 4/28/2023
Big Rig Steve officially done for the day safely parked near Waffle House at Pilot Truck stop Port Wentworth, GA ( Deja vu of end of day stop yesterday).
Title : Tire Change took too long
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began in Gaffney, South Carolina after trailer tires were repaired on customer property. BRS had discovered this upon arrival this morning to pickup the loaded trailer. Dag nabit, here we go again. BRS was finally able to start the broadcast and go to mass/weight check, but unfortunately the stream is not available so starting time and first 60 mile 95 km is missing. (If you had been able to watch missing stream, feel free to post a summary, as a comment).

Stream resumes 3:56 EDT near Clinton, SC on I-26 with beautiful scenery.

16:58 EDT we find I-20 crossing I-26 near Columbus, SC. BRS noted “yes, 5 o’clock Friday traffic.”
17:58 EDT near Bowman, SC, we rolled of I-26 onto the eastern seaboard big road I-95 southbound for Georgia .
19:22 EDT Welcome to Georgia sign greeted us and BRS was given bypass of the Georgia mass /weigh station shortly afterwards. Followed by a bypass of the Georgia welcome center.
BRS exited off the big road and rapidly moved through the Pilot into fuel ⛽️ island to plot the next possible location for truck parking just as a spot opened up. Yes, Steve scurried across the lot (yep, we were waiting for the “ that’s my spot!”) and grabbed the only spot available.
Steve advised that this area was one of his former stomping grounds that he had lived close by in Pooler, GA and worked for Gulfstream in nearby Savannah, GA. Yes, twenty years later, Steve has returned but now with the Blue Comet big rig.
Numbers: 156 miles 251 km to delivery (we do not have a new appointment yet as we missed original appointment due to the long delay of the trailer’s tire repairs. We covered 270 miles 434 km rolling through South Carolina just into GA not bad considering the late start. Clocks 5:04 hours on the 11hr, 1:56 hours on the 14 hr, (yes, that was the clock that was running low today due to the repairs using up our on duty time), 7:47 hours on the 70 hr. We gain back 7:34 hours tomorrow morning.
Another good day for Big Rig Travels
Welcome to Georgia state
