Daily Summary for 12/7/2024

Continuing to Move

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 7:49 am EST at the TA near Thomson, Georgia.  It was 21 and sunshine, continuing our trip to Lexington, South Carolina on I-20.  87 miles to go.  Our 70 hour clock is 23:06 hrs.

Steve discusses the TA as we leave, he might have found a new job as a food inspector, you’ll have to listen to the playback to learn what all that was about.

Welcome to South Carolina at 8:30 am near North Augusta, GA.

A slow down at 8:58 am near Aiken, GA.

At 9:10 Steve passes two big rig tow trucks addressing a big rig that had rolled over in the median.

Love’s near Lexington, SC at 9:31 am for coffee.

Arrival at receiver at 9:56 am, checked in.  Backed into a dock door for our live unload by  10:12 am.  26 minutes to complete the unload, another trip safely completed at 10:52 am.

Steve advised we are running a split clock, we have 1:13 hrs left on our 14 hour clock, so we head to the Love’s to take an additional two hour break in order to complete the 10 hour split break.

Two hour break completed by 1:02 pm.  Let’s get fuel for the tractor and trailer.  We are now deadheading to Moultire, GA which is 225 miles.

Welcome to Georgia at 2:20 pm.  

Macon, GA at the Love’s, with a search for parking at 4:53 pm.  Steve advises, “There ain’t nothing in here.  I didn’t think there would be.”  We roll back onto I-75 south.

Big Rig Steve officially done at 6:14 pm safely parked at a rest area near Pinehurst, GA.

Numbers:  85 miles to shipper where we will evaluate a bad trailer and our next load will also load from there.  We covered 315 miles including our delivery rolling in South Carolina and Georgia.

Clocks: 4:13 hours on 11 hr,  5:12 hours on 14 hr,  15:18 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
