Daily Summary for 12/3/2024

Day Drive, Night Drive, Day Drive…..

Big Rig Travels broadcast day continued through the night as he waited to be unloaded at the receiver near Findlay, OH.  A new stream is started at 4:16 am EST, delivery is finally complete around 4:30 am.  Steve started the trip to the next shipper.

Stopped at the Love’s for coffee near North Baltimore, OH at 4:48 am.  Here, he needed to also take photos of product that was rejected at the receiver and empty out the trailer.

Conducted a trailer washout at 6:15 am at the Blue Beacon, then we fueled up at Love’s at 6:30 am.  At this point, Steve advised we had 2:11 hours left available and 127 miles to the shipper.

Stream ends at approximately 6:58 am, when the phone had gone into an update.  Steve had found safe parking and was working a split clock.  He would rest/sleep, until we regained hours to drive.

Broadcast resumes at 2:46 pm from the I-80 plaza near Clyde, Ohio, continuing our trip to Hirum, OH.  Steve advises we have 100 miles to go, but now the trip has changed to a live load and we are now late.

Broadcast ends as we neared the shipper at 4:26 pm.

At 7:40 pm broadcast resumes with Steve leaving the shipper near Hirum, OH.  Status changed to “on time to delivery,” as we start our trip to Opelika, Alabama, 821 miles to go.  Steve advised that we are “very heavy with no scale nearby.”

Stop at the Pilot for Cat Scale at 8:54 pm in Seville, OH.  Steve advises, “ooohhh….we are perfectly legal!”  “Let’s go get coffee, shall we?”

Steve unplugs air cleaner to help some Road Crew that had complained of foul microphone sound.

Stopped at the Jefferson, OH Love’s at 11:42 pm to do a drive through search for parking.

Steve ended up parking on the I-71 on ramp from a truck parking lot near Port William, OH at 12:05 am (12/4).  Not Steve’s ideal safe choice for parking.  He explained that we were short on hours after doing a split and the truck stops are full.
