Working our way to the Calbit
Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 7:58 am CST, overcast and 64 degrees near Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Continuing our trip to New Albany, Mississippi.
BRS story time at 8:50 am as we pass near Kingston Springs, TN on I-40.
Another good story from BRS about 101 Travel Plaza near Parkers Crossroads, TN at 10:12 am. If you are interested listen to the playback about the lady that couldn’t figure out how to make a hamburger. Steve has never been back since.
Near Jackson, TN we exit off of I-40 onto US70 at 10:28 am to stop at the Love’s to top off our refer tank.
Hiding in the trees at 11:22 am, Steve spots a billboard with BRS on it on I-40 near Brownsville, TN just before exit 66!
Broadcast dropped out due to plug falling out during a bump, resumes at 12:06 pm near Arlington, TN while rolling on I-269.
“All right, welcome to Mississippi” at 12:26 pm near Byhalia.
Arrived at receiver near New Albany at 1:26 pm to go in to complete the drop and hook.
New stream at 2:20 pm leaving the truck stop near New Albany, MS headed towards Memphis, TN, 82 miles away.
BRS advises that we should check the store for clearance items and calendars.
Welcome to Tennessee at 3:23 pm near Memphis.
Welcome to Arkansas at 3:54 pm near Proctor.
Searched for parking at the Love’s, but no open spots. Arrived at the Flying J at 4:08 pm, “Good enough for me” in West Memphis, AR.
Numbers: 0 miles to receiver/shipper. We covered 375 miles rolling through Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. 278 gallons to Gold.
Clocks: 3:39 hours on 11 hr, 5:36 hours on 14 hr, 11:02 hours on 70 hr. Gain back 8:57 hours tomorrow morning. We had 39 minutes to go before needing a 30 minute break. May or may not broadcast tomorrow. We have a shop appointment on Wednesday morning to complete our Calbit which is overdue.
