Daily Summary for 11/20/2024

Quick Turnaround

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 7:28 am EST near Frankfort, Kentucky rest area.  It is 52 degrees and foggy, continuing our trip to Joliet, Illinois.

Steve points out a beautiful image of the sun coming through the fog as we arrive at Love’s near Waddy, KY at 7:49 am for coffee.

Crossing the Ohio River at 8:51 am, welcoming us to Indiana near Jeffersonville.

I-65 at 9:28 am, Blue Comet was sprayed with waste of a leaky tank on a passing truck.

Love’s stop near Lafayette, IN at 11:52 am for coffee and to top off the refer tank.  As we leave at 12:17 pm, Steve describes what had happened when he was in getting coffee.  It was a heart warming Christmas story.

Back onto Central Standard Time Zone at 11:41 am near Woloof, IN.

Slow down due to road work and big rig accident on I-65 near Roselawn, IN at 12:13 pm.

Welcome to Illinois at 1:13 pm near Lansing, IL on I-80.

Arrival at the receiver/shipper near Joliet at 1:50 pm to complete the drop of our loaded trailer and a pickup of our next preloaded trailer.  He worked on completing his 30 minute break during that time.

Status changed to “on time to delivery” at 2:36 pm, starting our trip to Streetsboro, OH.  At this point, he had 4:06 hrs left of his 70 hour clock.

Back into Indiana near Hammond at 3:13 pm.

Big Rig Steve officially done at 6:15 pm safely parked at the I-80 toll plaza near Howe, IN with front row parking.

Numbers:  221 miles to receiver.  We covered 519 miles rolling out Kentucky, through Indiana and into Illinois then back into Indiana.  One customer and two trailers.  8 day summary: 2,807 miles and 132 gallons to Platinum status for December.

Clocks: 1:15 hours on 11 hr,  2:20 hours on 14 hr,  1:21 hours on 70 hr.  Gain back 12 hours tomorrow morning. 

Alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow at 5:00 am.   Delivery is a drop tomorrow, anytime we get there.   the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast. Check out Bigrigtravels Road Crew facebook page to see pictures captured from other road crew.
