Traveling the Cumberland Gap

Big Rig Steve officially done at 6:54 pm safely parked near Casey’s in Middlesborough, Kentucky.  

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 10:24 am near Old Glade Spring, VA at the Petro.  It was 55 degrees with blue sky.  He got onto I-81 heading west.

Coffee and fuel at the Love’s near Meadowview, VA at 10:35 am.  BRS advised that he isn’t going to make it back home for his appointments.  He states we will be going through the Cumberland Gap today.  The late start due to being up late last night amazon shopping.

Mass-weigh station near Green County, Tennessee, no bypass and no issues at 12:15 pm.

BRS attempts to check out an overlook near Thorn Hill, TN at 12:56 pm until a sign said no commercial vehicles, so we pulled off on the right side instead to reset the refer alarm.

Blue Comet passed several emergency response vehicles and firetrucks as a garbage truck had been on fire near Tazewell, TN at 1:26 pm.  Entered a tunnel near Harrogate, TN at 1:41 pm rolling out the other side of the tunnel into Kentucky at 1:42 pm.  Road crew was spotted by BRS on the right waving a BRT flag.

Road crew, leads BRS towards the receiver through  Middlesborough at 1:59 pm.

Arrival at the shipper at 2:02 pm.  Steve completes the meet up with the road crew, which included fresh coffee.  Broadcast ends while waiting for entry into receiver at 2:36 pm.

Broadcast resumes at 6:33 pm, another trip safely completed.  BRS advised, “so we’re going to go for a little ride.”  We travel through downtown Middlesborough.

Numbers:  miles to receiver/shipper.  We covered 155 miles rolling out of Virginia, into a corner of Tennessee then into Kentucky, wiggling our way through the mountains, including a live delivery. Currently no next trip, freight is still slow.

Clocks: 7:11 hours on 11 hr,  7:39 hours on 14 hr,  44:24 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.
