The End of a Very Rough Trip

Big Rig Steve safely parked at the Sheetz near West Jefferson, Ohio after completing his delivery.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began on 6/18 at 20:13 CDT at the Love’s near Gary, Indiana.  Starting a new trip that is planned to load at 2:30 CDT on 6/19.  BRS could not sleep so decided to get fuel and go to the shipper early.  We had to fight our way to the fuel island as this Love’s traffic flow was a mess.  Leaving to head to the shipper 20:29 CDT.

Welcome to Illinois near Lansing at 20:42 CDT.

Arrived at the shipper at 21:18 CDT to check in at the gate near Joliet, IL.  BRS waves at the road crew at 21:31 CDT after completing the check in process.  We were assigned a door 5 hours early.  The wait begins as we watch in the mirror for the green light.  Steve leaves the stream run overnight and it is noticed at 2:45 CDT that we have a green light. 

At 3:40 CDT the Blue Comet’s door is banged on by the yard driver to wake Steve up.  Status is changed to on time to delivery at 3:58 CDT.

Welcome back to Indiana at 4:34 CDT near Munster.  The stream was reaching the 12 hour limit by Spiceland, IN at 8:58 EDT.  BRS said we will be right back with a new stream.

Arrival at receiver near West Jefferson, OH at 10:48 EDT where we parked to wait for our appointment which was 5.5 hours later.  As of that point, Steve went through numbers even though there would be more to accomplish yet this day.  A watch party started.  Steve arrived at the gate to check in at 15:34 EDT as the broadcast came to an end due to sight restrictions.  It was later learned that they would not let him check in until closer to his delivery appointment.  

Numbers:  0 miles 0 km to receiver.  We covered 346 miles 556 km rolling out of Indiana, in and out of Illinois, back to Indiana and into Ohio including a live load and after broadcast ended a live unload.

Clocks: 4:13 hours on 11 hr,  0:01 hours on 14 hr,  18:57 hours on 70 hr.  Discussed doing a split which would add 6 hours to our 14 hour clock.
