Daily Summary for 11/29/2023

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 19:19 safely parked near DeMontte, Indiana.  Welcome to our home for the night, it was a long day.  Broadcast ended at 19:27.

Title: Four states in one day.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 8:58 this morning at the Loves near Lambsburg, VA.  As we left the Loves, BRS witnessed a big rig that had missed the Love’s driveway tearing up grass trying to turn around.  We headed back out onto I-77 up the hill at 2 mpg.  

Near Austinville, VA at 9:48 BRS pointed out that we were crossing over the New River. 

Near Wytheville, VA road crew member Joyce LeBaron, was spotted by BRS on the overpass of I-77 at 10:01 prior to exit #73.  

It was tunnel time at 10:10. The first of two today.

Near Bland, VA at 10:15, our pre-pass indicated neither red or green light, so we had to roll into the open Mass/Weigh station.  No issues.

Near Rocky Gap, VA we were entering Blue Field Mountain as we approached the East River Mountain tunnel at 10:30.  BRS welcomed us to West Virginia as we passed through the tunnel.

I-77 West Virginia toll plaza at 11:03, near Ghent, WV, BRS said “get your coins ready.”

The weirdo in the ditch, Greg Treadway, was spotted by BRS at 11:25 on I-64 near Mount Hope, WV.

Welcome to Ohio at 13:10 near Gallipolis, OH.

We stopped at the Loves near Bidwell, OH at 13:24, acquired coffee, cheese filled hotdogs with onions.

Love’s at Nightstown, IN at 17:11 for our 30 minute break.  Mystic Wolf kept track of when our break would be complete.

Numbers:  82 miles 131 km to receiver.  We covered 598 miles 962 km rolled out of Virginia, through West Virginia and Ohio, and into Indiana.  Four states today.

Clocks: 0:48 hours on 11 hr,  1:56 hours on 14 hr,  52:38 hours on 70 hr.  Do not gain back hours tomorrow morning.  

Alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow, delivery tomorrow is 10 am for a live unload.  BRS projects between 6:00 and 7:00 possible start time.  Choose the BRT YouTube channel alarm bell to receive notifications for the start of our broadcast.
