New Trip and Upgrades

Good Tuesday night to the BigRigTravels Road Crew! Exciting news comes your way tonight! First, we do have our next trip which we will go to the shipper in the morning. It’s a nice 2500+ mile trip out to California. Yes, we have done a lot of Westcoast driving lately, but remember, this is my job which pays my bills. The website is secondary and we need to go wherever the current freight hotspots are. Besides, a 2500 mile trip is pretty rare, so let’s grab it and tackle it!

The other good news is I’m proud to announce that Wednesday morning we will begin broadcasting using our very own custom streaming app. This new app addresses the focus issues the other apps failed at. It also has a new Ladder Ascension formula that it will automatically try to lower in steps the quality of the stream then retry to climb back to full quality if the signal improves. If we totally lose tower connection, you will still be able to chat and the app will work in the background looking for the next tower. Our app won’t have a buffer circle but instead will stop right where it lost the connection then come back automatically to the live status. This should eliminate the audio sync that occurs after buffer monsters attack.

Our new custom built app also will run our new snowman images. This allows both views to be exactly the same with all the new data overlays. Now the cameras will display the current truck location, truck time, speedometer and altimeter in both imperial and metric. I feel this is a massive upgrade to our website that has come at great expense! While it has been in the works for several months and undergone numerous tests on private testing channels, this is the first time it is in public testing. I’m sure we will find little kinks that need to be solved, but we have to start somewhere!
