Daily Summary for 3/8/2024

Big Rig Steve officially done for the day at 16:52 EST safely parked near Gaffney, South Carolina.

Title: Three states and an awesome Road Crew meet up.

Big Rig Travels broadcast day began at 4:58 CST at the QT in Cottondale, Alabama.  Continuing our trip to Gaffney, SC.  Cloudy morning to start as we roll back onto I-20 east at 5:15 CST.

BRS states, “Welcome to Georgia” at 8:25 EST as the time zone changed near Waco.

Stopped at Love’s near Waco, Georgia at 8:34 EST for coffee and also tried to get a fuel authorization for the trailer (no luck with that).  Back onto I-20 at 8:53 EST.

BRS reports at 8:36 EST “Welcome to Freaky Friday in Atlanta.  BigRigTravels, the best way to start your weekend. The white trees you see blooming are the dogwoods.”

Arrived at Love’s at Fair Play, SC for tractor, trailer and DEF fuel at 11:30 EST, totaled out to 90 gallons.

Back onto I-85 north at 11:41 EST.  Near Piedmont, SC the exit off to the Love’s for a road crew meetup at 12:14 EST.  A very touching meeting, worth a play back.  BRS is a special, caring person.  Five medallions given out.  Jonathan, Jack, Jerry, Linda and Pam.  Bob M stated in the Youtube BRT chat, during the meetup “Why do I, a retired professional driver, watch Steve’s broadcast every chance I can?  Because of this!!”

Arrival at the receiver at 13:47 EST near Gaffney, SC to check in for our live unload.  Backed in front of a dock door at 14:15 EST, a watch party starts with BRS answering the normal chat questions while we wait for our offload.

Another trip successfully and safely delivered at 16:38 EST.

As we pull into the truck stop at the end of the day, BRS sees one open spot and says “we only need one”, but as we approach it another truck is nearby.  Steve exclaims “that’s my spot”.  After backing in, Steve realizes in this spot he will be sleeping on his head.  He ends up moving the truck across the lot to a more level parking spot with a fuel island view yet for the road crew to watch on the website 24/7 snowman cam.
