Daily Summary for 3/5/2025

Crossville, TN to Atlanta, GA

Big Rig Travels Wednesday began at 8:01 am CST.  It was 48 degrees, cloudy and damp near Crossville, TN.

Stopped at a rest area near Lancaster, TN at 9:05 am.  Parked next to one of Sam Dillsaver’s company’s trailers.  Steve checks on our trailer and determines a washout is not needed.  “Looks decent to me.”  Back onto I-40.

Arrival at the shipper at 10:16 am near Murfreesboro, TN, waited along the road to get closer to our appointment time.  Checked in at 10:45 am to complete the drop and hook.  Status changed to “on time to delivery” at 11:28 am.  We are loaded four hours early.

Love’s near Murfreesboro for coffee at 11:42 am.  

I-24 mandatory brake check at 12:57 pm near Mounteagle, TN.  We had a long line of big rigs entering, and Steve pointed out many that were disobeying.  “I’d rather do what is right.”

Love’s stop near Jasper, TN at 1:26 pm for fuel.

Welcome to Eastern Time Zone, we lose an hour, it is now 2:58 pm near Whiteside, TN on I-24.

“Alright, welcome to Georgia” at 2:59 pm near Trenton. 
Experience a traffic slow down near Atlanta, GA prior to the I-75/I-285 perimeter bypass.

Crossing over the Chattahoochee River at 5:21 pm.

Found paid parking at the Petro in Atlanta.  It was 48 degrees and overcast.  Clock stopped at 5:43 pm.

Numbers:  224 miles to 1st receiver at 3:00 pm Thursday near Douglas, GA and 2nd receiver at 7:00 am Friday near Valdosta.  We covered 334 miles including a drop and hook at shipper.

Clocks: 4:11 hours on 11 hr,  4:47 hours on 14 hr,  5:55 hours on 70 hr.  

No alarm clock ⏰ tomorrow.  

On a side note, Steve reports the Thursday trip recording ended up getting corrupted and will not be available to post.   Also, issues with downloading Friday’s recording may delay posting on youtube.

Next trip will take us from Valdosta, GA on Friday to Savannah, GA for an afternoon pick up that will end up going to Mechanicsburg, PA.
